Per Julius was born and grew up in Örnsköldsvik in North West Sweden. Its harbour and Archipelago are on the northen boundaries of Höga Kusten, the High Coat, an area known for its outstanding natural beauty.  Per Julius loved the nature that surrounded him as a child and he is best known for his oil paintings and detailed watercolours of the mountains and lakes of Northern Sweden.

 

Julius moved to France in the mid 1980s where he continues to paint.  He was originally based in Annecy before moving to Nice in 2002.  Julius has held several solo and group exhibitions all over Europe.
